Our NEPTuNE scholars and PIs convened in a wild and wet Cork City on 24th November 2022. The INFANT Centre hosted the team for our 13th Study Day. This was a hybrid event – one of the positives we have taken from COVID! – which enabled other attendees to dial in to the event.
We heard great presentations from Dr Brian Walsh, UCC who spoke about Early detection of Cerebral Palsy and Professor Deirdre Murray, UCC, who presented on Neuro development following NE. Both topics were of great interest to our team.
Each of our scholars presented their research updates and it was fantastic to see – despite the challenges of the last few years – how close they are to completing their respective PhDs! Professor Eleanor Molloy also presented a summary of the Programme Outputs to date which includes a total of 36 journal publications (with 16 more in progress). Our team has also made 32 conference presentations which is a fantastic effort in disseminating NEPTuNE’s research results.
At this point in time, we’d like to congratulate our COHESION scholar, Fiona Quirke, who has been awarded her PhD award. Two more of our scholars have submitted their PhDs.
