Trinity’s Regent House was the elegant venue for the HRB-funded NEPTuNE programme’s final Study Day. The Study Day fell on the final day of the 6-year programme and scholars, collaborators, and other researchers gathered to hear presentations at the programme’s Open Meeting.
Programme leads, Professors Eleanor Molloy (TCD) and Geraldine Boylan (Infant Centre, UCC), gave an overview of the NEPTuNE framework and how its research will be sustained through the newly funded ELEVATE programme. PhD scholar, Chelo del Rosario spoke of her scholar experience on the programme. PPI partner, Mandy Daly (INHA) spoke about the value of PPI to the NEPTuNE programme and to research in general. Dr. Annalisa Montesanti from the HRB spoke of the benefits of the Collaborative Doctoral Award and invited discussion from the audience on the challenges and benefits the encountered over the course of the 6 years.
Prof. Nikki Robertson, Consultant Neonatologist and Professor of Perinatal Neuroscience at the Elizabeth Garrett Anderson Institute for Women’s Health, University College London (UCL) and at the University of Edinburgh also gave a fascinating presentation on her ACUMEN study.
